COVID-19 Update

Dear Link Church Family,

I wanted to update you on what is happening at Link in light of the confirmed COVID-19 cases in our nation and state. I have watched the events of the past few weeks with a mixture of concern and wisdom, while being assured that we serve a God that loves and cares for us. It is likely that you too are experiencing some level of anxiety over these developments and are wondering how this not only affects your church but your life.

2 Timothy 1:7 lets us know “For God did not give us a Spirit of fear but of power and love and self-control.” While you may have feelings of trepidation and confusion, just remember that God is more powerful than any virus and He has this pandemic under His control.

The CMS Facilities Board is in charge of suspending and canceling the use of Olympic HS. CMS has suspended the community use of schools for the next few weeks. Therefore Link Church will not be meeting at our regular time at Olympic High School on Sundays. While we are disappointed that we cannot meet together physically, we are a connected ministry and will continue to live out the mission of our church during this season which is to live life connected.

Here are a few ways in which we will continue to reach our community and spread the gospel of Jesus:

  • Online Sunday and mid-week services will be streamed on our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Podcast) as well as, on our website.
  • Our virtual Small Groups will continue to meet during the week as scheduled, for the remainder of the semester.
  • Prayer Conference Calls
  • Link Kidz Online Lessons & Activities
  • Outreach opportunities to assist those in need

You may be wondering about giving. Giving is essential to any ministry. We’re asking that you continue to give in this season as ministry has not stopped. It actually will increase in certain areas. We are mainly an online-giving church, so we ask that you continue to give online, and begin giving online if you currently give via cash and check. There may be specific areas where you can give in order to help those who are struggling amid this crisis.

Answering Your Questions

How do I stay safe? Frequent hand washing, keeping surfaces clean, and staying home when you are unwell are all great ways to keep you and your family safe. Do not hesitate to call your doctor if you are unsure about the well-being of you or your family members.

Are there ways I can help? Absolutely! First, attend our online services just as faithfully as you attend our in-person services. Second, please continue to generously give online. Third, keep your eyes and ears open for how to help be the hands and feet of Jesus during this challenging time.

How do I join Link Church? Complete the “Become a Member” form on our website. From there, you’ll receive an email on how to take your next steps. Welcome to the family!

Please join us in praying for those impacted by the coronavirus, and if you have any questions, send us an email at info@linkchurchnc.org. Let’s continue to be the church that Jesus has called us to be. One who cares, prays and is filled with faith in the midst of fear. I’m praying peace, life, and faith over you today and always!!
